Looks like it's at least trying.

Another question:
So, I know it's not nearly (understatement) as reliable as agar, but should this pod actually have seeds…can I sprinkle the seeds around other phals as well as the mother plant? Or will only the mother plant have the right microbial mix to get the seeds to (fingers crossed) germinate?

Is this seed pod mature and ready for sowing or shrivelling up and dying? I understand they burst open in nature, but I would like to sprinkle seeds amongst a couple plants if possible. Hope someone will respond to my post above.

- the pod looks too 'thin' to contain any seed. Let it dehisce and you are likely to see white cotton-wool type wispy material, only.
- in the 'old' days I read that many orchids were propagated by sprinkling seed around the parent. I tried one year with an extra cattleya cernua pod I had. Nothing happened, nothing grew.

I hate to say it but it looks like it is drying up. I had a mini C. that did that after I re-potted it.

You're right. It was. That's ok. It was mostly an experiment.

Wow! It's like people(: They glow when prego 🤓 I thought the same thing about my last flower on my Trichoglottis brachiata! It seems to be more vibrant than the other flowers were and the stem is beginning to bulge 😁 I tried crossing it with a Neofinetia falcata so am hoping for a nice seed.
