Seeing how elongated it is, it looks more like a side-spike to me!

it just finished flowering in december can it really flower again so soon?or will it be a failed display?

If the plant is otherwise healthy there's nothing to worry about. The plant has the energy to send out a side spike. However side spikes generally have a much lower flower count than a main spike, so don't expect to have as many flowers as it had in the main blooming!
