Phal keiki with flower spike.
I was not sure (and still am ) if this was the right place to post this but...anyway...
This is a keiki that I took from a Phal that my mother has at home...she has at least 4 of them but they almost never bloom, but give a lot of keikis. I took this one in the hopes that it was from one that I offered her 2 years ago (her phals are not identified, so without flowers, it's difficult to identify them).
This keiki was potted less than one year ago and it has a spike already (as well as new roots and a new leave)...from my experience (which is not very long), the flowers spikes in keikis don't have a high probability to thrive so I'm crossing my fingers on this one...one thing I know, it's has a reddish color, which indicates this is the phal I was hoping for.

Wonderful!
I have twin keikis potted up last year (at which point they were about a year or so), they are both blooming for the second time in this last year. They only have two blooms each but the mother has only been giving out two blooms as well. These are my first keikis - the reasons I came here in the first place last year - but my experience has shown these blooms do just fine. It does seem that keikis can bloom fairly young compared to normal seedlings.

That's great!! Please share blooms pics with us!
I too have noticed that keikis blooms significantly faster than normal young plants of the same age. I potted up some large keikis in early fall, and they're about to bloom now. I've seen it in the past with other keikis too. So I don't think there's any reason to worry that the spike won't do well.

Hello, my friends
Update to this keiki...
Some photos show no noticeable developments from my previous posts:
Now, here comes the surprise...
I took this keiki from a phal that has flowers more or less like this one:
but what came out was this...
Although not fully opened, it's quite diferent. It seems a mad painter splashed some ink on the flower borders.

Congratulations on keeping your keiki healthy and having it bloom for you. Its just beautiful, I like the way the edges have the color all around them. Put me on moms list for the next keiki like that. LOL

How exciting to have this keiki bloom! It's a beautiful flower, I would be thrilled.
