I'm Veronica and I recently purchased a dendrobium nobile. While watering my orchid yesterday, I noticed what appeared to be a root coming out from one of the canes.
Can anyone tell me if this is a keiki or not? I've never had a dendrobium before, so I'm not really sure!
Here is a macro shot of my orchid's possible keiki:
Yep Keiki it is. You know for nobile you need to give it a winter rest with almost no water and cool temps, if you can provide it, for it to flower right?
By chance, do you have experience taking care of keikis? I know I should probably leave it on the mother plant until more roots develop, but should I do anything in particular to help the keiki grow?
Mine are planted in Lava rock and are growing great.
New update on Nobile keikis. Mine are a year old now, and all of a sudden the leaves are turning yellow and falling off. I don't know what's going on with them. They have looked great up to now. Any ideas ??
