Default Seeds won't green

Hi guys just wanted to ask for opinions. I had sown some Cattleya seeds that just won't green. The flasks with medium have been sterilized, seeds washed in diluted 3% peroxide solution, then left in high light, no contamination. Its been almost two month since flasking, and the seeds are still just floating around in there no germination.
Do you think there is still a chance? Or all hope is gone? The only two things I can think of is, the pod was set a side for some time after it had browned and cracked open, as I was preparing to flask. Is it possible that the seed had gone bad? It sat aside for say a month.
The other is, I feel like I've sucked up a too much water with the seed. Can that affect the germination?
Also what are the best conditions for germination (temp, light)?

One or two months are not enough for Cattleya seeds to go bad, even if they are not properly stored (unless they are kept moist).

What do you mean by "the seeds are still just floating around "?
Is there water all over the medium?

If they are in water they usually green but do not grow past this stage. They must be in contact with the medium to get some sugar.

If you get too much water in the flask when you sow the seeds, (or afterwards by condensation), you can:

1. Put something below one side of the flask so all the water stays in the opposite side, and you will have a patch of dry medium with some seeds on it
or
2. When you sow the seeds, use a sterylized teaspoon or coffeespoon (you can flame it to sterylize it quickly), and dig and take out a bit of agar from the medium, like you were making a tiny swimming pool. All the water goes into the hole, and the rest of the medium stays dry.

2 months is a long time for Cattleya seeds to green, but be patient and wait a bit more.

PS: As you said floating... Viable Cattleya seeds go to the bottom when you sterylize them. The chaff floats. You didn't discard the seeds and sowed the chaff, did you?

Thank you Fabian
Yes, there seems to be too much water in the flasks. I tried keeping them on the side so at least the ones that are stuck to the medium would stay dry, but they just don't seem to be doing anything. Ill try to get a picture.
Is it possible that the pod produced non-viable seed? It was a nice, fat pod tho of my large Cat. Hmmm...

Is it better to keep them in light or dark, cool or warm conditions?

I do not have so much experience, just got 15 to 20 pods from different crosses and sowed them.
But it is not common in Cattleya that the seeds are not viable, specially when you say the pods were ripe and cracked open.
Some of mine aborted before cracking open and I had to open them and even so there were viable seeds in them that germinated OK.

As for light and temperature, Cattleya seeds need light. I use CFB 14 hs a day, and they are at room temperature.
Many people germinate the seeds with natural light and they do well. (Never direct sun of course!)

Here, best I could do in terms of photo. The "clumps" are actually seeds I scraped them from the pod directly into the peroxide solution so they are a bit stuck together. But if you can tell there is about 1-2 mm of water in the flasks. I'll try to lay them side ways and see if that helps
