iDaniels, Cntry how are your seedlings doing? I'd love to see some pics. I have been looking at mine and I noticed a lot of new root and some new leaf growth!

My sphagnum moss has turned from a nice golden color to a green/grey color from the seaweed boost I have been adding to their water lol.

And this is my very biggest seedling out of the lot (Pizzaz). It has new roots and a new leaf growth right in the middle. This will probably be the first one to ever flower for me.

Here is the new set up on the porch for right now. I took the larger walk in greenhouse and made a row of shelves out of them to go across the side of my porch where they get morning sun till 11:30 am. When it gets over 90 degrees I put up a set of curtains to help filter the sun directly off the orchids.

I came across this thread and have enjoyed reading your progress so far. Tell me, how did you all coordinate this? Secondly, Could you provide info on how you ventilate- if at all? Thank you and keep us posted!

HI Amy,

I found a sale on Carmela about 8 flasks for $90.00 so on the board I asked if anyone wanted to go in with me. I had 2 people respond and I then ordered the flasks had them shipped to me and deflasked each one of the flasks. I separated them into sizes from each flask doing one flask at a time. Then I took 5 paper towels and divided them for a second time, this time they were all separated and placed in containers to get ready for transporting them to their new homes. Once I done all the flasks and separated them I sent them to two people here on the board. I also sent one of the two people 2 other orders for women that work with her. I informed them that the orchids came as well as took pictures and showed them what everything looked like and told them when I shipped them out. Well everyone got their orchids and we are keeping each other informed on how they are doing. We all live in different states. One of the girls lost some of her seedlings, I can't remember how many she has left. But everyone got some of each type of orchid. So they each received 8 types of seedlings.

Now for my set up I just had one small plastic greenhouse I purchased at first. Then I read about someone getting them at Big Lots and when I went they were on sale so I got another. ( 2 green houses now) Poles were missing from the second box so I went back and they gave me missing parts. Well this time the Walk in type were on sale so I got one of those. I broke open the box put it all together after a few weeks as, it was my own birthday gift. All the parts were there so I started taking it down and it hit me. Why do that see if I could figure out how to connect each side with what they gave me in the box and use the shelves this way with out the plastic zip up part of the green house. It worked I figured it out. Using 3 of the sections to run along the far side of my porch in the front of the house. I have some clip on fans if it gets to hot outside but we have had a nice breeze for the last few weeks so I really have not used my fans to much. Air comes through the rails on my porch so there is always air movement. Above 90 I turn on the fans I have. I water when they need it using rain water I collect.
