Heads up on those terrarium setups, air circulation is gonna be cricial for these babies, make sure they have warm humid air blowing on and around them constantly or you will get an unwelcome visit from the Rot Fairy!
CambriaWhat - I'm very concerned about that. I ordered some actual mini green houses that have air vents on the top, but they ended up on backorder, so I had to make some up until they can get here.
Suggestions? I've been opening them up every few hours to give them air circulation...except at night when I'm sleeping I'm thinking the larger seedlings might start being able to make it on their own just sitting on a humidity tray but with no cover.
Let me echo picotee is saying your setups look beautiful and you are poised for success!
Back to air circulation, when i first got my cattleya seedlings, i was obsessed with not letting them dry out. I misted and watered and covered their aquarium to maintain humidity levels of 80%+. That invited rot. Now I realize that as long as they have even moisture at the roots, lower humidity is no problem, and constant air circulation is a non-negotiable, top priority!
Yes, my arms are still aching from all the work! And I still have the flask seedlings to pot up (hoping to do that tonight!)
CambriaWhat - how did your seedlings end up doing after putting them in the sphag? I've never really used this medium before in my adult orchids, so I'm lost on how to use it...do I keep it wet, do I let it dry out? That's where I'm worried about the rot happening, because it's going to keep constant "wet" on the roots.
So I potted up the flask seedlings! I was quoted that there would be around 30-40 seedlings...I ended up with 157! some are super tiny and may not make it, but I'm hoping!!
Here's some pictures:
De-flasked...I was able to slide them out without breaking the glass.
These are all the largest ones, cleaned off and drying:
This is all of them..look at those teeny tiny babies!!

I simply love this! If even half of those make it you will still most likely be able to sell them off and make a profit. I REALLY like the one you chose for your flask...I'll have to get one someday. Green and purple!
