Default GERMIANTION MEDIA STERILSATION PROBLEMS

Hello dear orchid enthusiasts,

I am doing my first testings in preparation of the germination media. I don't have a pressure cooker, so I sterilise in the microwave oven. once the media is prepared, (the banana and tomato recipe) with the agar, it all starts to become a gelly correctly as it cools down. but then, when I sterilise at the microwave, it all boils again. All flasks are put to maximum power for 3 times 1 minuts exposure. So after this process it all turns liquid again and the resulting gel is not as good. Any ideas? any correction to do?
thanks!

After you heat it to a gentle boil, and load you vessel/flask don’t let it cool, take it to the microwave sterilize it then let it cool down, before you sow your seeds on to it.

I read somwhere that when making ur own media u sould seal them before they cool down and wait a few days to make sure they aren't contaminated.

Some people do this; at the OCRC we don’t practices this, attention to detail makes a lot of difference.
