Ophrys, Serapias, Comperia and Mediterranean Orchis

Been trying to get ahold of one of these for years now. If you would ever want to spare a couple seeds/successful tuber please contact me... I will pay or whatever it takes. I love these.

Hope this helps

What would mr Dart here have to do in order to obtain some of these seeds? I have full access to a laboratory with the necessary equipment that hopefully will lead to successful germination.

They definitely can be propagated by tuber, I have come across another guide regarding the propagation of Ophrys via tuber... let me do some digging and see what I can't come up with.

That site is great though, it may not break everything down into terms that are quite understandable (I'm reading and scratching my head), but the content is definitely there regarding tuber propagation as well as seed germination.

At the moment I have been back in forth between propagating mycellium/orchids/rare herbs and bonsai... as far as orchid seeds I'm not sure that I have any you would be interested in... I have some small Maxillaria tenuifolia divisions ready to go but they obviously couldn't be shipped right now... I've got some Dendro. kingianum divisions ready for shipping but once again we would have to wait for warmer weather for those.

If you have any interest in exotic woodies potentially for bonsai propagation, I obtained some Tamarindus indica seeds that I have tested and successfully germinated at a 100% viability rate (not exaggerating whatsoever, though the test was only conducted on 5 so far).

I have some more rare and exotic tropical genera/species, but they simply aren't ready for division/cultivation unless I can get them into the tissue culture lab... this might take awhile ;-).

For me a very interesting link. Surprised to read how easy Ophrys germinates if you add some potato or pineapple juice.

Now I need to get my hands on some Ophrys seeds :-P, they are a fortune through some of these sites that ask for "Western Union" or the typical scam type payments... I can't trust them. Here in Philadelphia and really ANYWHERE in the US its damn near impossible to find Ophrys
