Default Phalaenopis Fast growth media

Hello out there orchid lovers!

I have some phalaenopsis seedlings and i want to replate them into a media for as fast as possible growth media.

I search into the internet but couldn't find something special . Just read about recipes of Knudson and MS media but without information on their fastness.

Anyway i have all chemicals to construct them but i m asking you if you have a specific media for that reason in mind.

Thank you.

I doubt there is such a thing. Assuming a plant has all the nutrients it needs, it is only going to grow so fast.

I recommend you use a "full strength" media and for fastest growth make sure you keep your temps constant around 74 and have good light. You can replate into fresh media a few times also to help growth, but then you risk contamination every time you do it. You sound experienced so you probably rarely have contamination, but if it is a cross you are excited about, there is no reason to risk it.

Good luck.

New Zealand sphagnum moss is the old standby for seedlings. It works well.

You should pay attention to the other cultural conditions; they're more important than the medium.
