So exciting!!! What a wrench in your experiment. I guess nothing beats natural sunlight. It certainly will be exciting to see what it looks like. It's great that the leaves kept their freckle, what a beautiful trait.

I've just come across this thread and had to read it from start to finish - it's a real page-turner, and I can't wait for the happy ending! Freckles is fabulous, the star attraction for sure.

Thanks for taking the time to share this experience with us all, and congratulations - you must be a very proud daddy!

yes, I can't believe the progress over 2 years ! Especially since I first spotted freckles. The spike on freckles is growing relatively fast, hopefully by June we'll see the results.
Here's another interesting one. Unfortunately its much smaller and a fairly slow grower compared to its siblings. Its claim to fame is that once a leaf matures, it turns a purply/rose colour. Pictures don't do it justice. I held off mentioning this one because I wasn't sure if this leaf colour change was due to lighting, but it appears not. There's another small leaf growing so hopefully the trend continues.

the leaf on the left is purply/rosy - the leaf on the right is turning the same colour from the end first, its about 1/3 of the way so far.

Yes, the colouring's quite clear in photo. Interesting to see what colours the flowers will be.

here's a better photo that illustrates the colouring. As for blooms, I wonder if I am going to get anything other than yellow combos. Hoping for at least 1 pink !

That's intriguing to see such variety in the leaves in one cross. You must be very excited! I'm sure we're all dying to see if it's just the leaves that are influenced to be different or if the flowers will also so such variety.
