Ludisia discolor from Cutting, leaves fading. Help!

Hello!

So, about a month ago I got a cutting from a Ludisia discolor and was advised to keep it in water until it roots.
Its gotten nodes on it now, but two of the lower leaves have turned pink and dried up. I tried potting it in some bark and peat moss, but now I'm second guessing myself. Is it time to move on and keep it potted up or should it go back in the water?

I currently have mine that has growing root nodes like yours still in water. I did lose the very bottom leaves back when I first put it in (mine took a lot longer to start the roots than yours) but it's not lost any more recently.

Personally I wouldn't mess it about too much though, so might suggest leaving it now you've potted it up.

I have never tried the water thing, but if you lay it flat on top of moist sphgnum, it'll grow roots and sprout new growth in no time.

Losing a few bottom leaves would actually be expected since it doesn't have adequate root system developed to maintain its energy needs. I agree to just leave it be where it is but ensure it stays moist (not wet) in the mix as the roots are developing.

I rooted mine in moss. It did lose a leaf or two and it did take a looonnng time but it is doing well,. While it is rooting do not give it any sun and make sure it stays moist! ....Jean

I have always just put my cuttings vertically in loamy soil and rooted them over time. I have never put them in horizontally. I'll have to try it. Rooting in water works but takes a while for me.
