is there a method to start seeds by having a sterile container with a lid where moistened sterile sphagnum moss is covered by sterile cheese cloth, then roots of the pod parent are placed inside the container with the seed for them to sprout that way?

I read that somewhere. I've been trying to find it again cuz I want to try it.

Back in the early days of orchid growing scientist use to use a method similar to what u have described but the results were little.

I really like this tutorial, Bazinga. Thank you!
I did try sowing a few months ago and failed due to contamination. Now, I have a few freshly collected seed pods and I'm going to attempt it again following your steps.

Update:

Well it has been just over 2 months since I did this and nothing has happened. I have no contamination and also no protocorms.

I think my mistake in this process is that I didn't put them under a lamp after, so that the peroxide would turn to water. Oh well live and learn.
