Question about Meyers Conservatory
Hi all, I have a Phal. stuartiana that I recently pollinated and it's got 2 nice seed pods coming along. I want to get them flasked by Meyers Conservatory and looked all around their website to see if there was a special form or something that I needed to fill out but can't find anything. I sent an email a while back but haven't gotten a response.
Has anyone gotten seeds flasked by them before? If so, how do I go about it?
Thanks!

Adriana,
I haven't had Troy flask any seeds for me, but that's only because I haven't had any suitable pods reach maturity. I have some on plants now that I intend to send to him.
I have ordered flasks from him and have been very happy with what I got, and I know others who have also. (Bias alert: I like Troy and I like what he's doing.)
If you create a login on his site, there's a place where you can create donor records with information about your plant, the pods, etc. You need to do that before sending any seed.
There are some species that he's not really interested in because he's been unsuccessful with them in the past or there's no demand, or whatever, so it's wise to email him and ask. I'm surprised you haven't heard back. Usually I get a response within a few days.

Thanks Steve, I guess I'll try again. I created a login a while ago and have signed up for flasks but I can't seem to find where exactly to create the donor records you're talking about. Could you point me in the right direction?

They're good with epiphytes.
Sowing the seeds to terrestrial orchids that grow tuberoids is not his strong suit. So terrestrial genera like Phaius, Calanthe, Bletilla, Bletia, Gastrorchis, Spathoglottis, he's fine with.
I think he also prides himself with being able to sow Bletia seeds when some others cannot.
All the epiphytical seedlings I got from him were fine. I also got seedlings of the naturalized Bahamian form of Spathoglottis plicata from him, and they were good when they came to me.

Adriana,
If you go to the flasking home page ( https://lab.troymeyers.com/flasking/home.php ) scroll down and click on "Your Records", you'll see a page with a "Create New Record" button. That will take you through documenting your pod(s) and getting a record number assigned.
I need to update my (few) records, as a couple of pods that looked good decided to abort at the very end, and I have a couple of new ones to enter.

OK maybe something is wrong with my browser but for the life of me I don't see anything that says "Your Records" the closest I see to that is "Current Reservations" or "Edit Your User Information" but when I click on those there's nothing like "Create New Record" aaaaah!

Trying to remember if he had to do something to add me to the donor database before I could create records or not. I'll dig through some old email and see what I can see. May take me a day or two, I'll have to import it from another system.
