Time for harvesting seed pod? Female
Default Time for harvesting seed pod?

Hi all,

I have a seed pod on a Blc. Husky Boy that I pollinated on Dec. 5, 2012. It's my first seed pod and I was looking at the harvesting times on the AOS website and am not sure which one I should use for this. Here is the site Harvesting Times of Orchid Seed Capsules for the Green Pod Culture Process

Can someone help me out on deciding when it's time to take it off of the plant and send it to get flasked?

Thanks in advance!

The published guidelines are only just that - guidelines. There are just so many variables involved that can affect the reality that I rely on observation: when you notice either end of the capsule just beginning to yellow - harvest immediately.

yeah I emailed Shane at OrchidOrigins about my questions...it did take him a couple of days to respond, but he was very thorough in his answers about when to harvest, how to package, etc.
