Flasker Needed for Encyclia Male
Default Flasker Needed for Encyclia

Hi all! I have a pod of Encylcia vitellina that started to split a day or two ago. I cut it off and have it in a folded peice of paper in a ziplock bag now. Is there anyone out there that does flasking that is interested in this? If someone would be willing to flask this for me, I'd be more than happy to let you make an extra flask or two for yourself! Or if you're not interested but are capable of doing it, I would pay you. Please let me know! I want to get this one ASAP!

Ask around at your OS. Surely someone knows...or knows someone who knows. Good luck, it will be a fun adventure for you!

Nice plant! You could always send it to Troy Meyers for flasking.

This brings up a question. When I recently bought a flask of seedlings, after traveling to me through the mail, there was no longer a nice plate of agar with seedlings on top. Instead the agar had broken apart and was mixed in with a jumble of seedlings. This was OK since the seedlings were ready to be removed from the flask but when you have just had seeds sown in a flask and it is returned to you then having the agar all broken apart in the flask would not be good. So how do you get a newly plated flask returned to you without the agar plate being broken apart during transit?

Did you find someone to make the flasks for you?

I am still wondering how a sown flask can be transported through the mail without the agar breaking into pieces.
