A few orchids do have seeds larger than dust, genus Disa for instance, but nothing like the size of those.

Plant a few and let us know what comes up.

They appear to be Iris seeds, see attached (from wiki.irises.com)

I also ordered "Phalaenopsis Seeds" online. I received seeds that looked like the other attached pictures. I have identified them. They are also Iris seeds and definitely NOT phalaenopsis seeds.

You were "taken".

Report the seller to Ebay
Leave detailed negative feedback
Demand money back

There must be a few dozen "I bought these seeds on Ebay" threads on this forum by now. Lesson learned - assume that sellers of "orchid seeds" on E-bay are running a scam - unless you have a very strong, iron-clad reason to believe that they are legitimate. Caveat Emptor.

I found your post fascinating, not because of the subject, but because of the picture of your envelope that appears to show a street name of Gabriela Mistral.

I have recently been scanning hundreds of old family photos that belonged to my grandparents. There was one old photo that I remember quite well because it was extremely difficult to get a good quality scan of the image. It was a photo of my grandmother, grandfather and a rather stern-looking woman I did not recognize, taken in a very ornate, classically styled courtyard. On the back, they had written that the picture was taken at the Pan American Union building in Washington, DC and that the woman was Gabriela Mistral. I had never heard of her before and searched her name and found she was a well known Latin American poet and educator in the 1920s and 30s, winner of a Nobel prize. Amazing woman, well ahead of her times.

So I was quite amazed when I saw her name on your envelope! It is good to know she has not been forgotten and is at least memorialized with a street name in Argentina.

They're not orchid seeds, I think that the seeds in the third photo are probably Mirabilis jalapas seeds.
Orchidojy, you're not the first who buy "orchids seed" on E-bay and receive other plants seed.
In addition to EstebanJ who started this topic, also in this topic, we're talking about "orchid seeds" bought on E-bay from China.

http://www.orchidboard.com/community...purchased.html

Also in a italian forum, a forum user bought "orchid seeds" from China on the internet and received black seeds that could be in my opinion Mirabilis jalapa's seeds...
Semina orchidea phalaenopsis! Help

So I think that the better thing to do is to not buy "orchid seeds" from non-specialized site on the internet
