Cattleya dolosa deflask.
Inspired by the recent thread of the Catt. violacea deflask I purchsed a flask of Catt. dolosa from the same vendor.

A good question. This is my 1st deflask so I don't know. I would guess that it will be a couple of months before I can discern the beginning of new root growth.

You plants should put out new root growth (on the existing roots) pretty quickly, ie. a few weeks. My deflask (whats left anyway) has many plants with completely new growths too.

Does this mean that you have lost some; what percentage have you lost and was there a discernable cause?

I've lost most actually. I'll probably post an update pic today. As far as I can tell, its been rot even though the media is light, airy and never sopping wet. There is plenty of air movement too. I think a touch of physan every now and then would go a long way, but I couldn't find any when I was looking the other day.

Oh, so sorry, I have been worrying about that. I have a large arsenal of bactericides and fungicides and I have been thinking that I should perhaps treat with something this weekend. The one thing I don't have is something to treat Black Rot.
