Is cross-pollination really that easy? Female
Default Is cross-pollination really that easy?

Hello all,
I wanted to cross pollinate 2 of my phals.
I have a brother sarah gold, and one other smaller greenish phal. Is it as easy as taking pollen from one and pollinating the other with it? And how do i keep the seed pod safe? I had a paph with an unexpected seed pod, and i didn't know what to do and it aborted.
Thanks, Jax

its really easy, but like everything only when you know how !
Troy Meyers has a really good website, so do Thomas and Lotte. I suggest you read up on the subject.
And then there is the black hole called ploidy, which you may come across. Its advanced....and you need to know the basics first.

do some research on the methods of pollination and give it a go. Worst case scenario is that it does not work and you can try again next time As for ploidy and all of the "advanced" stuff, just do some research on it and don't think of it as being to difficult. Everyone must start somewhere
