Dendrobium propagation
Wink Dendrobium propagation

Hi everyone! So I got this dendrobium orchid in full bloom, and I was wondering how to propagate it. It doesn't seem to have any keikis, and it only has one growth point, it's not that big and it doesn't have any green root tips(It had an slug problem, I took care of it by squishing the hell out of the little virmin, because it tried to craw up my shirt when I was watering the plants). The roots were not sticking on the pot like normal ones(clay pot). I wish I can propagate it because it's not in good shape right now and I want it to survive in one way or another. It's still in bloom now, it's been in bloom for two weeks(from when I bought it).

Hello!
You can do a number of things to propagate your Dendrobium...

1: Do a cane cutting and either put it in a bag with sphagnum moss or if you can leave in a cool moist area outside (not in direct sunlight)(easy)

2: Try to pollinate your Dendrobium and grow seeds from the resulting seed pod (very hard)

3: Once the flowers have died off, repot the entire Dendrobium...but...split it up into 2 or more plants. Make sure that each new plant has some leaves on it (easy)

There are a lot of threads on this forum that can give you more detailed information on these suggestions. Or use GOOGLE to find out more.
Try putting this into the GOOGLE search criteria:
"Propagating Dendrobium Orchids"
