Selecting media for propagation
Default Selecting media for propagation

Hello.

Im trying to decide which media to buy for my orchid propagation.

Im looking at this site and im between two of them.

OspEx 1.0 replate medium.
and
P668 mother flask medium.

In a video in youtube i saw that using the OspEx 1.0 media you doesn't need to re-plate your plants.

What are you thing ? Which is the best to choose ? Is the better solution to buy both of them and use the OspEx 1.0 for the re-plate ?

Thanks in advance.

If you choose P668 for the sowing, you should use half dose and supplement sugar.
P 668 is used to replant

What you mean "used to replant" ? Maybe replate ?

And also which one you suggest me to use for seed showing ?

Thank you for your answer

I see.. but here there is no report for OSPEx1.0 and it tells that P668 is for replate as you said.

Also i cannot understand why in the phytotech lab P668 is for replate and in Orchid seed bank P668 is for seed sowing.

Hi
You can also use the P668 for germination, but some components are too high for germination.
Many use the P668 for germination but as indicated in the first link, half-dose.
Many have tried the sowing with a full dose of p668 but for many species, germination does not occur.
I do not know OspEx 1.0 Medium, and I do not know its composition, if you can find it try to compare it with commonly used medium P668 M & S etc. ..
