Default Capsule vs pollen parent

I have carried out a number of crosses where pollen from one is swapped with pollen from another. Most have taken ( well at least at this stage ).
I may need to decide which capsule to use. Does anyone know/or have a resource, which explains the pros and cons of using either ?
For example does the capsule parent ensure that basic genetic traits of that parent are retained ? I know thats simplistic, but are there "rules" ?
