One important website to see and learn will be carol website for beginners:
http://www.home.turbonet.com/kitchenculture/tcinfo.htm

There is a huge links to orchid TC info there including manuals that can be downloaded to make a beginning..
also info on making hoods and sterlising.
Please also make it a point to visit the kitchen labs propagating orchids like the ones shown in kitchen culture site:
http://www.kitchenculturekit.com/tonivisit.htm

May be they have alot more out there..
Thanks

Further to my last post, I would like to add the following:
for flaskers of new orchids there are two lines to follow:
(1) To grow them from seed pods - of either the species or hybrids that you had pollinated to begin with.
(2) To grow the tissue in this case a part of the mother plant to new growing babies.. Several possibilities exist here of using a stem tissue- may be a new meristem from a growing psudobulb or a flower spike or an uninitiated auxilliary flowerbud or roots or such plant part according to the genera in question..

A complete treatise of which plant part to be used is a debate and success rate varies according to the methods employed in creating the mother cultures.

Mericloning is by far the most used orchid propagation method employed by thai and taiwan Tc units.. Some of these units propagate orchids by the millions or clone them in such huge numbers.
They use several replating media according to the growth in the culture vessels .. even segregating the process of multiplying, rooting and growth into individual activity in the lab.
Also the technology employed to propagate varies from a lab to lab...
Several media formulations to suit the varied needs of the genera are available on the net to the surfers..
There are media specialists who can tailor a media to your specific needs.

In the culture vessels or growing containers there has been a steady improvement and type of vessels from Glass bottles to , Polycarbonate vessels to throw away PP containers with millipore venting systems that are in practice. Usually the main suppliers of TC media also supply the vessels for propagation. We prefer use of cheap plastic containers for micropropagation as it is easier to transport them later in the life cycle of a tc plant.

The additives that are added to the media is a question of great debate and every Tc connoisseur has some tips to merit attention. Growers who can contribute to such tips are welcome as these are the ones that point to new directions in reducing the most important aspect of TC that is time involved in the protocorm stage to grow out stage..
It is our wish that experts in orchid TC contribute their vast knowledge in the shortcuts that are used to produce healthy plants in a shortest possible time that can provide impetus to new orchid enthusiasts.
Thanks
JAGS
