The cattleya looks like the roots have been trimmed according to the condition of the plant.

The potting looks good and with the rhysome clip, my assumption is the plant is good and tight on the media. This is vital or it will not root.
This is why sphag-in-a-bag is a waste of time with cattleyas.

I would just keep plugging along with your cattleya.
It was horribly stressed! I have unfortunately been guilty of propagating such torture on some of my plants
I have one now after SIX months showing life
I generally hang on until the are dead-dead-no question dead
Tenacity pays off very frequently and more often than you think with catts.

So water it when it needs it....the more quickly you turn over wet dry cycles the better for your plant.
I like Aussie Gold for cattleyas with poor root systems. For some reason, it holds more humidity without keeping the plant "wet".
Nevertheless, you need to pot it up and let it be. Continually repotting the plant screws up the environmental signals it needs to stimulate growth.

Fertilize weakly and KLN is a great idea, but one normal strength application (1 tsp/gallon) should suffice.

Your plant may take two to three years at least to flower but fate willing I will be here to see the pic

Thanks for the encouragement, Eyebabe. I don't intend to give up until it dries up and blows away! I love your vote of confidence about the bloom time also. Though if that happens it'll probably have to be a 'next of kin' taking the photo
Good Growing,
Tony

Several months ago I bought a catt and when I unpotted it, I discovered it had no viable roots. All the roots were dead and hollow. I just placed it back into its pot with some fresh bark, watered with Superthrive, and placed it near a windowsill with no direct sunlight. Now it has a couple of new growths with many healthy new roots. I can't say if Superthrive really helped or not, or my plant just didn't want to give up the ghost.

I know this is contrary to what I've read almost everywhere, but I didn't cut off any of the dead roots. This time, I had better results than with the catts that had all their (dead) roots cut off. And I haven't had much luck with sphagging and bagging catts either.

Over a year ago I bought a C. amethystoglossum from a reputable grower. The plant looked good and I expected to see growth right away. Well, it hung there for an entire year without doing anything although I could see a viable bud. Finally this spring it sprouted and is growing nicely. Whether it will bloom on that growth is unknown but at least it is growing.

Your cattleya looks much better than my first cattleyas when I first bought them. It can take month's to see new roots. Don't move the plant around but rather stake or clip it to keep it very still. Good luck!

Well, I'm not actually ready to do the 'dance of joy', but I may have to start dusting off the dancing shoes. The larger division of this catt has put out a 3rd little growth, (Still no roots I can see), and the smaller one was repotted into small sized lava rock, as the bark mix was staying too wet being outdoors, and there seems to be a swollen dormant bud that looks about ready to try and live! I'll keep y'all posted.
