How to use root hormone with orchids? Male
Default How to use root hormone with orchids?

Lately I have read many how-to articles that use root hormone to propagate specific plants. So tonight I went and picked up some powder at Lowe's. I know how to use it for rose's and I know that you can use it with certain orchids. My question is: What orchids can I use it with and how do I use it on orchids?

I think you will find that Cytokinins will be more effective for orchid propagation then Auxins. You can look for different keiki products some are liquid and some are paste.

Auxins are used for keiki production. Rooting powder should be mixed with lanolin to make it stick to the plant/roots. I've had the lanolin/rooting powder mix on my phals for a month and so far there doesn't seem to be any movement so I'm not sure how long it will take or even if it will make a difference. Fun to try tho'!
