Anyone Know How to Stem Prop a Dendrobium?
I know you can. I just don't know how to do it. You use the cane and plants will come from the internodes.
Thanks for any help.

You could have some made for a fee.
Micropropagation Services
My fault, I thought you were asking for Phalaenopsis stem propagation.
If you use one of the nobile hybrids, just lay a leafless cane down somewhere it won't dehydrate.

I haven't tried it yet. That is in the list of 500 things I need to do in the lab. Maybe I'll be caught up one day.... yeah right :-)

Hey Ben,
It's fairly easy to get dendrobium nodes to throw a keiki. Most of my experience has been with accidental breakage of a healty cane. I just lay the cane (no medium necessary)in a semi shady place, and within a few weeks a keiki pops out.
I also read a related article that suggested using a long shallow tray lined with damp sphagnum moss. You lay the cane over the sphag and then cover the tray with clear plastic/saran wrap, place in shade, and wait.

You can also use the same technique with the bloomed out spike of Phaius.
