for replanting, no more than 2.30 hours
avoid browning of some leaves, and the plants will start soon

Just found five flasks with contamination.
I tried this bleach fumes technique, exposing the five flask 30 minutes to fumes. We'll see if it works. If it does, I've a lot of photos to post!

Do you mean that we can use the fume technique for replating?

too little 30 minutes, if they are seeds you can get to 4 5 hours if seedlings are 2 to 2.5 hours

Of course, even better than for sowing, in the transplant it only has to sterilize any surface contamination.
transplants never had no contamination, this allowing me to make transplants more frequently

So does this technique actually work to decontaminate the flasks as well?

never tried it on contaminated flasks, but if the contamination is not extensive, you can try to replant and use this technique

I am going to try this method this weekend with bellatulum dendrobium seeds. It will be my first time attempting to germinate orchid seeds so I'm actually not expecting it to work, but here's hoping!

Well, last Saturday I made up my first small batch of flasks. I used the microwave method to sterilise the medium, and Roby's method to sterilise the seed.
It will be a week tomorrow and I don't see signs of contamination yet. I don't see anything else happening either. I'm guessing it will be a month or so before I'll know if the seed is going to germinate? I used dendrobium bellatulum seeds - does anyone know how long they take to germinate?
