There is an alternative way to multiply Thunia's. You can cut the mature stems in lengths of 5-15 cm. Let the ends dry and repot them however I have no experience in this. You can do this to make more plants faster. Keeping the stems intact will make sure that the the divisions will flower.
Another option is to cut the new stem from the old one as soon as flowering has occured. This shouldn't damage the new stem in it's abillity to flower the year after. Take care to halt watering in the week or so after cutting.
