Funny, that's the exact same article I used when I flasked some seed a year ago. Super informative, well written, and extremely helpful. I give them my thumbs up!

Wow! Thanks so much for putting this up! You know, I did find a "natural seed growing" (short) article awhile ago...here's the link. While far from consistent or useful for mass production, I think it may be fun to experiment.

Orchid Flasking on YouTube
Three part video series by Frank Tromble.
Step by step instructions from disinfecting seed thru to flasking.
Includes instructions on microwaving and autoclaving (pressure cooker) flasks for disinfection.
Frank states that out of 100 flasks he's gotten 0% contamination.
He makes it look pretty easy!
Video 1 time 15 mins
Video 2 time 14mins
Video 3 time 25mins
Hope this helps any one who's had questions.

This is SUPER COOL you guys! I have just made a couple of crosses, and I definitely want to try flasking them myself! Thanks for finding all of this info!

These are great videos by Frank, he is a very helpful person too! Those interested in plant tissue culture need to subscribe to Yahoo groups and the Home Tissue Culture Group!

They don't work for me either. I guess because this is now such an old thread, they must have been removed from YouTube

The link in the first post doesn't seem to work any more, but the page is still available on the Wayback Machine here:
