Hi, could you advise when do I pot out of the spagnum moss, the dend. keikis, some have new long green shoots about 2 inches. Their pot size at the moment, is 2 inches wide. Also advise what the new mix should be. What size pot should it be housed in. It is spring here now in Oz. Thanks.Dendrobium keikis in spag.moss, has new shoots, when do I pot out of this s/moss?-img_1252-1-jpg

Hi QLD, it's a beautiful spring day here in Perth.

I've never put my keiki's in spagnum, I've always put them straight into bark mix. I'd say you can pot that into medium bark mix maybe in a 3 inch squat pot, you may well get more shoots during the spring.

Marion, hi,
Yes here in Brissie, was a beautiful day, quite warm. It is going to be a real hot summer (I think).
Well, the keikis have really come along in the Spag. with these new shoots, I only put them in 2 wks. ago in these tiny little pots, suspended from the side of my orchid house (inside that is), with lots of air circulating. So unless any other orchid grower out there tells me otherwise, I will pot them up in small bark in a bit bigger pot on the weekend. Have a great w/end Marion.
