One question that has been bothering me. These flasks are sealed, where are they getting their carbon dioxide from for photosynthesis?????

Eventually as they get larger, it's preferred to have a hole on the lid and a piece of cotton, bandage, or filter for respiration. Right now, it's not necessary, yet.

A drill if it's rubber or plastic.

Anything sharp and a hammer or a drill if it's metal.
