Anything with pbs will work, at least theoretically.
I tried with cymbidium before and they ended up rotten. Maybe mine was closed in too much without enough ventilation.

Anyhow, wow~ the first sprout is really big! and growing for ten months! Gower Ramsey grows much faster than that usually. You would see pbs forming and everything within ten months period. well, you will see when it flowers.
Given the size of the growth, I wouldn't be surprised if you see flowers as the pb matures on this one.

Starting Oncidium from backbulbs Female

I mounted 2 backbulbs of a NOID dancing ladies oncidium on a palm tree back in July of last year and this is the plant in bloom about a year later. It was well worth the wait.
