I would leave them as they are until they get a few more roots then plant them together. (don't separate). Many specimen plants have numerous growths.

Leave them until you have more roots. Separating them too early could kill them both.

Thanks for all your comments. I hadn't intended to separate or plant them yet because of some prior posts I received about planting Keikis. I think I'll leave them together...after all, twins hate to be apart.

Nenella, your last post didn't seem complete, and I'm interested in what you meant to say.
George, I Apologise for my 1/2 post; what I was going to say is that I agree with Mayres; in my 'limited' experience (of just once; more than a year ago....) they grow better separated....I too tried to grow keikies together..but ended up splitting them... I am all for the the 'idea' that it would make a mega specimen plant - so I hope you ''try it" I still am persuaded that it 'Can work' ..I actually put 3 kekies in same pot in S/H all roots rotted (as were too advanced) they are now split up & 2 in s/h are doing better than one in bark mix (having colpletely renewed their roots) ...which is what I grow most of my phals in..
So please do experiment & keep us posted! Good Luck!

Default Youtube video on Keiki doublets!

Hello,

I am a beginner at orchids, but I found this video that seems to have the same problem with two plantlets in the same spot. Maybe it'll help!

And then here's one about cutting the keiki:

I hope this helps at least a little bit!

Erin
