Hey, Shadytrake, if my memory serves me right. There are a couple of people in this forum who do own Zygostates lunata.

Maybe you can ask them to trade so that you don't have to do selfings. Get the gene pool going.

If anyone wants some Cattleya Mossiae I will have some ready probably around Christmas. The seed pod is maturing very quickly and it may be a little sooner.

Hi Math

What is the other seed you have coming up and the Coryanthes species.

I have samples of

Arundina Graminifolia (wild form - pink - just collected)
Coelogyne Shilleriana (just collected) (Update 20/Jul - 2 samples left)
Dendrobium Unicum (1 month old)

Will Habenaria and Pecteilis species in a few months.

Brett

Hello!

Do you know the source where I can get various species orchid seeds?

I checked eBay but I don't like the repertoire. Some seeds seems good but they has been harvested a year ago.

The only way to get the freshest seeds possibly that doesn't come from your own stock, is to ask around like how you're doing.

I'd recommend the OSP, but again, you're dealing with seeds that have been in storage for years.

You might also want to mention what kinds of seeds you're looking for.

I looked at the OSP website but I saw that the seeds had been harvested several years ago. Are they still viable?

The answer to that question depends on the orchid.

For the most part, it's a gamble.

I'm looking for some Ascm miniatum, Ascm curvifolium, Den chrystianum (not chrysathum!!!!), Gram speciosum and so on.

I've found Gram speciosum seeds on the OSP site that had been harvested in 2003. Definitely dead seeds. I don't want to throw 4 bucks plus shipping cost out of the window.

The Ascocentrum seeds may not last very long either. Vandas and Phals have seeds with short life spans. I imagine Ascocentrum is the same, I could be wrong.
