It was way easier. You do have to be very careful though to be scrupulously clean and sterilize with good disinfectants. I used bleach, then Dettol as a double dose to clean the container before adding the hot media.

I also had a bath of Dettol and another of sterile water in the box while flasking to re-do the lid if I needed.

So much easier to reflask bigger seedlings this way. You have to make sure thought to get a good quality box that seals well and wont deteriorate over time.

Ok, a note on the lunch boxes. I got some contamination in the box I did. I have since removed the Phal seedlings, washed them and reflasked with a prayer that they contaminant will not come too.

I think the times I have seen lunch boxes used, it looks great and was so easy to do, but I wonder how they did it. Was a laminar flow unit used with a HEPA filter or glove box. My normal flasks from the same flasking session are all fine so far.
