Hi
I took one pod over to the lab and it is flasked. I was pushing the lab 2 days later to report the embryo count (got confusion from the staff on that one). They said they were not sure that the seed would be good as "it was old"..... Alai wa? was my thought in Thai
You can guess what that means.
Before I could get the other pods in that day, they decided to split. I decided to see how the pod I took in green goes, rather than throw good money after bad. I can always repeat the cross later.
The lab tried to tell me that Thai growers harvest spathoglottis pods at 20 days or less, and that they though I had left it too long. I kind of doubt this information. I trust the information above "from a spathoglottis breeder" that the green pod time is 45 to 55 days and though he had done it at 30, it was not really advisable.
The lab was probably just giving me an answer to the question, when they really had no idea. It happens.
I just hate the run around and poor information.
