Why can't you just pop off the remaing buds or leave 1 & and apply the paste

Because when the plant is in flowering mode and you apply the paste, it thinks it is supposed to grow more flowers and you get side spikes not keikis. You can't fool Mother Nature by whacking off a few buds that haven't opened.

there is keikipro and keikigrow-

I currently have only keikigrow and I used on some pretty horrible plants- maybe even too late to salvage ,so I thought the stuff didnt really work for me-
Might give it a go sometime soon.

With regards to keikipro, i've heard good stuff, but have not gotten the opportunity to try it.

I think the most important thing is TIMING- i think either of these products just SPEED up what it is the plant is doing.

On a weekly watering I use Dyna Gro KLN, which is a rooting hormone mix, that has worked amazingly well for me so I can speak on behalf of that.
