Cool! Are you planning on using a different medium when you replate? Also, are you venting your flasks?

I've always wanted to do something like this but didn't think I could. I've pollinated lots of my own phals and had pods but that's as far as I took it. I'm encouraged but what becomes of the poor guys that "appear" to be deeply imbedded in the growing media? Do they get their heads above ground at some point?

You're welcome and thanks for the support! So I've decided to replate today....I made up the media 10 days ago and yes, Joseph I vented my flasks (well the ones with jar lids I vented, the others have the magenta caps). Wish me luck!!! I'm not going to reflask everything, just experimenting...they look sooooooo crowded.

MEANWHILE, one of my epi pods opened ...I didn't catch it in time, so I'm going to try to do the dry seed approach with it. The current seeds were sown from green pod.

Congrats! Isn't it fun watching them grow? I had "New Year Babies" last year, which are now 2"-4" tall. To answer your question about the submerged babies....they should be fine until replate. Although, some may brown out if left there too long. I would make the replate media a little more consistent (add a little more agar, or a little less water). I have found they do better with a stiffer re-plate....about the consistency of Jello. When the roots stay too wet, they don't tend to develop their velamin (white coating on the roots used for water absorption) as quickly. But this is just my opinion...
