I don't have any pics of how to pollinate an orchid or of the orchid parts you need to be concerned with. But...Troy Meyers Conservatory does. Here's the link:

I can post a pic of what a developing Porroglossum rodrigoi seedpod looks like...

Unfortunately I didn't take a pic of a Phal violacea I pollinated a while back. I no longer have this plant and I pollinated it in an effort to save it. Both efforts failed obviously.

Phals can take almost a year (198 days to 298 days depending on the species - this information is based on records from Troy Meyers Conservatory on Phalaenopsis) for the seedpod to ripen and be ready for harvest. Unfortunately this leaves a lot of room for something bad to happen between the time they're successfully pollinated to the time they ripen.

The petals and the sepals usually stiffen and turn green before they start shriveling as the ovaries develop.

Thanks Again King, I've already did the pollination last Thursday. Same case as yours (something that I got to save) and I monitored it since then with the other phals in my collection that I pollinated the day after. The starting phase seems promising though I know something is yet to come through the days before it ripens but I can see some swelling already on the ovary part in which I believe it's at the back of the flower. I hope this one holds until it ripens, I really need to save this one.
Thanks Again King!
