Default I think I have capsules. Now what?

Two months ago, I selfed this Phalaenopsis Sogo Tris for the hell of it. I didn't think it would successfully develop, but apparently I thought wrong!

...now what do I do?

well, after researching some of the threads and going through the same thing myself, if i were you, i would check out the redneck flasking thread posted by gin. that is, if you are going to end up flasking. my pod split today i would recommend when it gets bigger (about a month in a half) to put something around your pod in case it splits so that the seeds aren't contaminated.

It'll be a while. The capsule will swell really fast, then slow to a halt. It'll then slowly swell again and eventually split. Nothing you can do would keep the seeds from being "contaminated" once the capsule splits. In this context, contaminated just means no longer sterile, not that they are infected or hopelessly exposed to killer mold. They would just have to be disinfected (just like the green capsule would) before sowing. Many commercial labs request green capsules (before they split) but many propagators prefer dry seed. For me, dry seed is easier and you can store it in the fridge for years.
