Update,
Seed pod is still going. Its nice and plump and is now 62 days old. According to the web, it takes about 130 days for green pod maturity. Thats another 68 days!! So that puts it at around the last week of January!!! It takes soooo long!!
Are there any supplies I should start gathering? If there are, I don't know what they are.

If your flasking a green pod, you should have your media and flasks ready, because you only have a couple of days before dessication causes the pod to split (from the time of removal from plant). Also, make sure you inspect the pod very closely, before it goes in the box, sometimes it will open a tiny bit somewhere, which is sometimes hard to see. In this case, all seed will have to be sterilized....it is no longer considered a green pod! The pod will start to look kind of dried out before it splits. Sometimes, you can hold it up to the light and see the seed trying to bust out the seems, the seems will be a lot yellower than the pod.

Umm,
I don't what this is about. The Phal has decided to put out a new spike, and the fruit capsule has dried off. I think its way too early for this to have occured. According the internet resources this should not have happened until May-June.
I am not prepared to sow seeds, what do I do??????? I guess if the capsule opens on me I will check the seeds under the microscope for viable seeds. I have a feeling this experiment failed.
Some feed back please!

It looks like that capsule is aborting. It may be possible that it contains viable seed, but probably not.
If there is any hope, I'd cut it from the plant (if you're sure it's no longer being supported by it), flay open the capsule, and inspect the seeds. If left on the plant, and the capsule is not actively growing, moisture from the "green" fruit tissue will probably rot the seeds.

Thanks for the advice. As you can see from the pic, the stalk supporting it is no longer green, but dead brown. I will do as you suggest.

I opened up the capsule and took a good look with my disecting scope. There were no seeds at all yet.
Oh well, back to square 1

Bummer. One thing is for sure - you'll never get seed if you don't at least try, right?

Good point!! Both parent plants are in similar stages of bud development, so heck, I'll try again!!
