I think it will make it easier to avoid crown rot this way. I am definitely potting these in s/h when they're ready. I already received my order from First Ray's
This sounds like a great idea. You're right, you should be safe from rot this way. Smart cookie!

When you started talking about lying down across a motorcycle, I was thinking, "whoa, this is a PG rated forum!" Just kidding! Keep up the good growing!

I meant it in the PG rated way

I hope I'm getting the hang of things on orchid growing. It has helped relieve the stress I've been dealing with work and parts of my personal life. It's very therapeutic.

I really wasn't reprimanding anyone, and I surely did not intend on being rude. I was just making a joke (see the LOL and 'Just kidding' in the above post).

I made this first innuendo, so I apologize. Craig, I just think yours was just a little less veiled than mine so it came off as a little more blunt.

Don't sweat it guys! Let's just keep having fun around here and exchanging good info (I'll try to keep the comments restricted to orchids).

Craig! How are your compots doing? My Phal Amabilis is doing great! The Phal. Stuartiana is struggling a bit. One seedling has a yellowing root so I'm keeping a close eye on it. I still follow my regime of watering them when they're almost dry, which is 1-2 times a week, with a weak mix of Dyna-Grow Liquid Orchid-Pro Plant Food (7-8-6) and K-L-N Rooting Solution. I do the same for both compots early in the morning (around 6am, sometimes earlier).
