The Harley Davidson Springer is A-Ok,, pretty beast,, shes all Black Cherry Pearl, and Black Pearl Two tone, big fatty 200 wide drive rear end swingin low, the black pearl mettalic has a dusting of every color of mettalic paint flecks in it, in the sun it looks like a shower of colors, luckily my leg an mostly the bones in my foot took the majority of all the damage,, besides the Burnt meat off the inside of my leg staining some chrome on the engine its A-ok,, still only has 375 miles on it, i like to look at it, it sets there smirking at me like," you dont really want to ride me again do you?" "you remember what happend last time!",, "start me up so we can smell some of your skin burn", i met a girl like this once also, better off i leave it alone for awile? maybe??? im pretty stupid though,, it wont be the last time, temptation always get the bettr of me in the end, mean while im stickin to my orchids, maybe i should get rid of her before she tkes me down for good?

I got burned by a muffler, getting off a bike (dirt bike or scooter) in the Dominican Republic when I was 15. It was a small burn but it hurt and stung like...OUCH! Now a have a small spider vein marking the spot.
My boyfriend used to have a Kawasaki but I don't know which model. It was HUGE! I could've easily lied down straight across on it. I was a bit saddened when he sold it.
About my baby orchids, I realized they actually potted with PrimeAgra on the bottom half and sphag moss on the top half. I decided to dip the pots in 1/2" of water for a few minutes as my watering method, just long enough for the moss to get moist from the bottom up. I think it will make it easier to avoid crown rot this way. I am definitely potting these in s/h when they're ready. I already received my order from First Ray's

This sounds like a great idea. You're right, you should be safe from rot this way. Smart cookie!
When you started talking about lying down across a motorcycle, I was thinking, "whoa, this is a PG rated forum!" Just kidding! Keep up the good growing!

I meant it in the PG rated way
I hope I'm getting the hang of things on orchid growing. It has helped relieve the stress I've been dealing with work and parts of my personal life. It's very therapeutic.

I find orchids very soothing too! Between that and watching "fish TV" makes life very stress free! Adlemsi if your going to grow these in SH, you could probably go ahead with the larger compot. I put some of mine in SH as soon as they are "hardened" off of super high humidity after they're deflasked.

the "hardening" I talk of is slowly acclimating them form a 100% humidity flask like environment to whatever humidity levels your growing area for them is. For all my deflasking adventures I usually give them 1 1/2-3 months, depending on type/species, to adjust to the lower humidity levels. Being already in compots it is likely(but not certain) that the grower you got your plants from already did this to a point. This was the main reason I was concerned about the celing fan... If they can take the daytime hours in your house under a celing fan then they have more than likely been acclimated to lower humidity, they are "hardened"... If the leaves stay plump and the roots are too then it is likely they can take the transfer to SH.
Craig, your encyclia's will probably take a bit. If you wish to burry the roots, take some of the dry sphag, shread it and sprinkle it over the roots, DO NOT PACK IT DOWN. If you do this and it stays dry for a day or 2 then mist it, if it turns darker from soaking up moisture in a day or 2 then don't water them. It has almost been a week for ya so maybe time to drill a hole in the pie containers. This is the slow process of "hardening' the plants. By the time it has 10-20 small holes then the lid can slowly be removed, or instead of holes slowly prop the lid up( this does cause a more uneven distribution of the humidity in the container). Also just a reminder this is a PG FORUM and the sexual innuendos should stay in your mind alone! Just a thought...

Yikes! I didn't mean to start trouble. I honestly meant my comment in the PG rated way. I just wanted to create a mental picture of how big my boyfriend's old Kawasaki was. One time, I was curious and I laid across the top while it was parked to see if I fit. I'm 5'7", so yeah the bike was huge...and heavy too. No sexual innuendos intended.
