Can I cut this root and plant it?
Default Can I cut this root and plant it?

Good morning from sunny Florida. So I have a Rhynchostylis gigantea with a root that is hard to control. The root is almost a foot long and I can no longer keep the green part of the plant upright because the root has shot off to the side. As you can see from the picture I am wondering what I can do about this. Do I just keep it that way or can I cut the root and pot it and hope I can get a new plant?

Leave it as-is. You’re not likely to get a new plant from a root cutting.

Place it’s a basket and hang it. Problem solved.
