Tetraspis 'C1' Thriving or dying? Spikes look good however the leaves are yellowing
Default Tetraspis 'C1' Thriving or dying? Spikes look good however the leaves are yellowing

So I have had this tetraspis for a little over a month now and it was beautiful. However a few days after having this orchid the newest leaf just fell off. Mind you theres no rot on the crown form what I can see no mush it just kind of broke off. After that i notices the tip of one of the spikes were turning yellow up until the last node then just dried off. But both spikes seem to be growing a bud. Now all the leaves are turning yellow from the crown up. At this rate the only main leaf that will be left is one and the tiny leaf growing that i found inside the crown after the newest leaf broke off. Also It is holding on to dear life by two roots and so far I dont see it trying to produce more. Please help im so sadened by this because the foliage was sooooo beautiful. Im starting to thing i have bad luck with phals...

from only pictures that plant looks like it is over watered...have you looked at the roots? i read that there are only two good ones, are the others mushy and black or completely gone?

So when I bought it it didnt really have that many roots to begin with as they were all dried out (the medium was bone dry) so i cutt those off. Maybe relative to the amount of water they were watering it before is way less than what im doing now but i havent been overwatering this one for sure.

I reckon it's dead, since you have had it only a short time and the roots were already in bad shape I don't think it was your fault, but was probably dying when you got it.

@ jcec1 It had like 3 roots that were ok. Th plant came the leaves were green and healthy looking but very thin and kinda flimsy (not dried out or wrinkly though).

If you want to give it the best chance, click the link in Rays signature and find the article for how to restore a rootless plant.

This might be too far gone but there is green so it ain’t ALL dead yet

Okay, on the site it says submerge the plant over night in the solution but..
a.) does the entire plant with (leaves included) need to be submerged or just the stem?
b.) How much water per tablespoon(like is it one tablespoon per gallon)?

Just get at least the bottom part submerged. If you do that... make sure you get it dried out in the top crown part the next day.

1 Tablespoon per gallon of water with Kelpmax. If you don't have Kelpmax, do the soaking anyway, then follow the rest of the instructions.
