A very easy and success way of orchid seed propagation
Here is a simple and successful method for Orchid Seeds planting to culture medium in open-air by chlorine gas.
Hobibotanik Metodu ile Evde %100 Garantili Orkide Tohumu Çimlendirme - YouTube
Seed sterilization with chlorine gas is a known method but the seeds sterilized in the traditional method have to be sown in an aseptic area again. In this method, sowing is carried out in the open field and sterilization and sowing is completed in a single stage, and there is no need to work in an aseptic area.
It is enough to leave the seeds in chlorine gas for 3 hours, but if you want more guarantee, you can increase this time up to 4 hours.

I love the idea of safe and open chlorine gas in the same sentence

I watched the video and the technique looks pretty good for germination. Is it applicable to transferring to grow out flasks? I would suspect that flooding the transferred seedlings with chlorine gas would kill them.

When you mention chlorine gas, do you mean bleach. I am with DC. safe and chlorine gas in the same sentence is an oxymoron.

since this is a known method I can pretty safely confirm that bleach is used. I would not recommend pouring vinegar over it to produce chlorine gas

Yes. I did that once. Fortunately the washing machine was in an outside room. Was not sure what was happening at age 21 but never did it again.

Welcome to orchidboard!!
For those interesting in the method, we had a very long thread about this technique some years back, where an Italian member was using it with great success for his flasking. Very Easy Sterilisation Method - My Seedlings

I usually avoid clicking on strangely named links posted by someone in their very first thread, especially when the url is a bit odd (youtu.be???), so I can imagine that I'm not the only one.

Thanks for posting the link to the previous thread, as it somewhat answers my question regarding replating. As there is some difference in the two methods, I would still like to hear back from the op regarding my question. While I can understand reluctance to click on a given link, the rationale for commenting on the merit it without having done so escapes me. As the saying goes, a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing.

Unfortunately same method can not use for replating seedlings, but I developed some different methods to grow plant from seed to become seedlings in same jar without open it.
Plant seeds to paper bridge and use liquid medium, you can change medium from a pin hole by syringe. You dont need to open jar until your plant ready to acclimatization.
