Ross, Here are some quick snaps - not very in focus! Sorry! But they will give you some idea of relative size.... These are some of the larger individuals from the flask.







I must say that I am happy with the way the seedlings are adjusting to life outside the flask (so far!)...

Yes... roots are good! roots are good! Especially for babies just learning to make their own food!

If they keep going like this, I'll be able to send you some - and you can wait patiently with me until they bloom! How's that!

Aww, thanks! I'm even willing to pay you! When you said they had lots of roots, I still didn't expect to see that many! The last pic looks like there's 5 leaves at the top and the rest is roots! Maybe I should show my rescued mini hybrid Den the pictures to show him what he's supposed to be doing... At least the bulbs plumped up since I rescued it.

Looking good! The first couple of weeks is the roughest. After they put on a few roots outside of the agar they adjust very quickly. It looks like you know what you're dong. Well done! It's all downhill from here.

Thanks for the encouragement! I haven't a clue what I'm doing!! This is the very first time I've ever been brave enough to try this. I did a bit of research - found some great information here as always - tailored it to my growing conditions and habits, and kept my fingers crossed the whole time (and am continuing to do so!).

I think I've just been lucky more than anything else.

Starting this weekend (14 days after deflasking), I am going to take the cover off for an hour a day, increasing that time slowly until they are growing completely in the open air.

PS. The dining room table worked a charm... be sure to tell your wife!

I'm thinking those little fellers are ready for mounting as soon as they are ready for your orchidarium. I'm visualizing a multiple mount, though - maybe three plants?
