Default Gelatin as a substitute for Agar

Hi everyone,

I am trying to make some sterile medium for sowing some seeds. I was trying with comercial agar I found in supermarkets that is used for alimentary purposes. The medium wasn't getting that hard even with high amounts of it. I am not sure if I was doing something wrong, but I was following some protocols to make a jelly for gastronomic reasons.

So I am now trying with gelatin, using double the amount of gelatine than the recommended and let it set in the fridge. It gets a great hardness and I am thinking of keep the procedures with it.

Does anyone have any experience with it?
