I repotted it last summer and it bloomed for me! (I had previously abused this orchid for about a year by repeatedly under-watering :P )
|
It's looking very happy now!
|
A pretty thing. Your source?
|
haha I actually bought it at a farmers' market!
|
Very nice looking blooms - I definitely prefer the larger flowered Odontoglossum/Oncidium type hybrids. Pretty colour too!
|
I'm happy for you that it survived the abuse, because it's gorgeous! Looks like it doesn't hold a grudge. :coverlaugh:

@Camille haha :P
Thanks for the replies! I have a question. If you look at the pictures, you can see that I've cut the tips of some of the leaves off because they were turning brown. I read that when the tips of leaves are brown, it means you are over-fertilizing, but the leaves have been brown-tipped for a while and I have literally only fertilized the plant twice, ever (once right before the spikes started to grow, and once after the spikes started to grow). Some of the leaves are also yellowish. How can I prevent this? Thanks! :) |
Brown leaf tips can be several things, all related to water imbalance:
Too little water Too many minerals in water Low humidity High temperatures. |
thanks!

A+++ for loveliness. What temps does it prefer now that you've got the hang of it. I'd like to try one.
