Should this phal be reported deeper?

Over the last several months the lower leaves have fallen. Should I repot this deeper?

Well, you're going to get 12 different answers. Here's mine: Yes. At the bottom you may see dead central trunk. I break that dead, dry stump off. Then I repot lower. Putting the ariel roots into the medium is up to you. You'll get two dozen thoughts on that. ;) This is how you are going to learn what works for you.

I agree with Dolly, go ahead and repot. It looks to me as though most of the exposed roots, aerial or not, will easily be maneuvered into a pot. Your plant will thank you for improved access to moisture, assuming you water it sufficiently. I'm betting you won't find an awful lot of healthy roots inside that pot.

If that were mine, I would repot it deeper. I would choose a pot that was deep enough and also wide enough to accommodate most of those above-the-media roots without damaging them too much. Inevitably, a few of them may be broken, but the plant should still be fine after it has some time to adjust.

I put it deeper in new bark media that soaked overnight. There were not many viable roots in the pot, I think I have been watering too much. We will see!:D
